The struggle is real, people. THE STRUGGLE IS SO VERY REAL. Three books this month, a audiobook and two short stories finished. On the other hand, I didn't finish any of the books I started in september. And to make things worst, I started more books in october. I mean, what am I even thinking. Nothing apparently. October was just a terrible month for me. I have felt sick most of the month, so I didn't feel like doing anything. I have high hopes for november (I say and see myself already failing)

First things first: I received this book through NetGalley.

Ich habe es vor ein paar Stunden fertig gelesen aber ich hab mit der Bewertung gewartet, weil ich einfach so zwiegespalten war. Ich bin es immer noch.

Das Buch war auf jedenfall wirklich gut, und bei einer Seitenzahl von weit unter 200 hat der Autor es trotzdem geschafft mir die Charaktere und auch die Geschichte an sich näher zu bringen. Obwohl ich viele Ansichten der Charaktere nicht verstehen konnte, was wahrscheinlich aber hauptsächlich an kulturellen Unterschieden liegt, deswegen ist es auch nichts schlimmes.

Ich mochte das Buch wirklich, bis auf das Ende. Was war das denn? Meine Gedanken wandern natürlich zu einem extrem düsteren Ort, der mir tatsächlich total die Freude an dem Buch und vor allem an den Charakteren nimmt.

I finished this book a few hours ago and waited with the review cause I was just so torn about it. I still am.

I liked the book quite a lot actually. With a page count far under 200, the author really managed to bring these characters and their story alive in a way that made me feel really close to them. I couldn't understand some of their views, but that is mostly a cultural difference between the characters and me. So it's not a bad thing.

I liked this story, until the end. Cause what was that about? My mind automatically wanders to a really dark and twisted place, and that really sucks the joy out of the rest of the book and especially the characters.
