#28 - Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices) - Cassandra Clare

I finally decided to read this book. I quite enjoyed reading The Mortal Instruments and I really liked The Infernal Devices. This is the first book in The Dark Artifices series, which I think, I will enjoy as well.

The first installement was a great introduction to Emma and Julian's world. As we already know a lot about Shadowhunters by now, there were less world building than in The Mortal Instruments, but there were some little indications saying who was Clary and Jace, or Magnus for example. We also get to meet Jem and Tessa (which was amazing!) and we meet a lot of new characters. If you have read The Mortal Instruments, you already know the Blackthorns. But in this book, we got to really meet them and I think all of them are incredible. They are really different characters, not too complex, but they still surprise you sometimes.

The plot was simple and full of tropes we know from other shadowhunters stories or from YA books in general (impossible love...). However, it was not a problem for me, I'm not yet bored of it :)

I'm not sure if what I've just written made sense, I'm really tired and I need to catch my train. In brief, I liked the book, I'm going to continue on with the series, but I'm not sure it will be my favourite Cassandra Clare's series.

Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices) - Cassandra Clare

No dice roll for me today, I'm still reading Lady Midnight. It is great (and kind of massive).

If you are looking for me, I'll be reading.
