Lake Silence - Anne Bishop

Initially I was a bit unsure about reading these books as they weren't centered around the Lakeside Courtyard and all the characters I'd grown to love so much. But, in the end I loved the world this author created too much to not read them. And I knew that I would love the spin-off books as well.

 

I said "love" a lot in that paragraph, didn't I?

 

Anyway, this book definitely does not stand alone, in my opinion. You'd need to read the preceding books (the ones centered in the Lakeside Courtyard) in order to fully understand the world and events referred to in this book.

I knew once I was able to sit down and get started on this that I'd get hooked quickly. I'm so glad to be back in this world...even if it's not the Lakeside Courtyard.
