Okay, It Was Funny
Beauty And The Bookworm - Nick Pageant

I was recently asked if I ever enjoyed humorous books, the answer was not really. I have enjoyed Janet Evenavich but other than that, no. So imagine how I felt when somebody I really like and respect suggested I read Beauty and the Bookworm. The first chapter was really hard and then the author hit his stride and the humor flowed so naturally I had to give in and laugh. The humor was natural, it just happened. It wasn't forced, that's why I enjoyed it so much. The boxing scene in particular was hilarious. Many times while reading this I had to actually apologize to the people sitting around me at the coffee shop and the subway for laughing out loud or snorting out of the blue.
Winner!

An Adult Lite Read
Rainbow Blues - K.C. Burn

I don't know if I would have enjoyed Rainbow Blues so much if I had read it if I was in a different mood. I wanted something light and warm and fuzzy and that's what I got. I also enjoyed that these that these MCs were not 17, 18, 19 years old. These were grown man in their 30s and 40s. This was a case of instant love but the author went for a little bit more by them a few more hurdles after they fell in love. Nope, it was not perfect but it scratched the itch I had that moment.

Taxes and Tardis - N.R. Walker

You know that writer that creeps up on you when you least expect it? Well that's N.R. Walker for me. Without realizing it Walker has become an auto-buy for me and I had read almost everything she had written. This time out we meet Logan an accountant and Brent, a tradesman. They are opposites in every way but they both take chance on each other and it's a sweet ride. Tim Brent's best friend is a really great character like all the good sidekicks should be. This is a short read and of course I want more.

Insta-Love
Six - Tara Spears

Six is a sweet cute little story about two single man raising children. I. normally try to avoid babies and children in my stories.  Let me tell the world there were a lot of babies & kids in this read.  I can say from experience all of the kindergarten scenes were spot on.
This was what I call a "light" read. Things happen at a quick pace and problems were solved - done. I do wish it wasn't such an extreme case of insta-love. The getting to know you stage was really interesting and should have lasted maybe six or seven months.
Yes, sometimes when a couple breaks up one person loses all the friends and It's sad but are you telling me no one person was there for Angelo. Oh and I detested the use of the word BRAT. I can barely stand it when referred to children.  This whole thing had a new writer feel to it. It also had a good, solid base, I feel if this writer keeps working, keeps taking advice and learning we might have some really good reads in our future.

The Knight and The Prince - Dru Wellington

1. It's a nice lite little read.

2. It's an series/installment thing. I'm over that whole craze. There's too much time between releases and the whole thing becomes very pricey.

3. The MCs were interesting enough but longer, deeper development would have made this a must read.
