My first read of 2016-- and what a good one! If you know Sandra Cisneros mostly for House on Mango Street, pick up this collection of poetry for all the same literary finesse a more adult flair. These poems are rhythmic, lyrical, and really sexy. That's the best way I have to describe them: really sexy.
Lois is bored with her life in England. She longs for adventure. So what does she do? She heads off to Alaska with plans to travel down the entire continents of North and South America. Alone. On a motorcycle.She has her moments, but much of the trip is dangerous and dirty and many of the people she meets are corrupt and wicked.
Once I picked this book up and started reading it I couldn't put it down.
