The Date - Louise Jensen

A night out with her friends which ends badly for Alison, very badly. A bit of a slow burner this and only seemed to get going once Ali began to work things out. She is one very annoying character who never did the right thing at the right time and came across as pretty dense. This is the sort of book where everyone is a bit murky with something to hide, apart from the dog! It intrigued me enough to carry on reading, mainly to see how long it would take Ali to discover who was after her and why, which was actually quite obvious. A very interesting storyline and a great cover.

The Date - Louise Jensen

OMG! This book was super creepy. My heart started racing very early in on this book. I had to keep putting the book down for a few minutes just to let my heart beat slow down.

I seriously enjoyed reading this book and sped right through it (well, when I wasn't in the time out pattern mentioned above - Ha!). This is definitely one that you don't want to start at bedtime!

Thanks to Bookouture and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Excellent read!!

The Gift
The Gift: The gripping psychological thriller everyone is talking about - Louise Jensen

Every Tuesday, between four and five, I tell lies.

- first sentence

Jenna was dying until she received Callie's transplanted heart. Now Jenna is having feelings and visions of things Callie experienced. Everyone thinks she is crazy and Jenna even doubts her own sanity. But the feelings are getting stronger and Jenna can no longer ignore the things she remembers.

The cover claims this is, "The Gripping Psychological Thriller Everyone is Talking About." That implies an amazing story that you can't put down with unexpected twists - right? Well, it doesn't quite live up to that claim. The story is good, and the plot leads the reader to believe certain characters are guilty, but there were no jaw-dropping twists. By the end, I just wanted it to be over and didn't really care what the devious plot was that got Callie killed.

I will say that the concept of Cellular Memory is interesting. I think I just expected more from this book. The reviews on Goodreads indicate that I am in the minority - most reviewers rave about it.

The Date
The Date - Louise Jensen

Alison Taylor and her husband have just recently separated. Now, Saturday night, she's been persuaded by her friends to go on a date with a guy from a dating site. But by Sunday morning her life is turned upside down. She has no memory of the night before and she doesn't recognize herself in the mirror. She can't recognize her friends and family. She can't recognize who is trying to ruin her life.

I read The Sister by Louise Jensen and really enjoyed it. I love the cover of this one. The writing is fun and it took no time to fly through the pages. There were some interesting aspects to the story but it was predictable. I'm bad at figuring things out, in fact I don't even try anymore, but with this book I could see things a mile away. So the book was a mix of entertaining, disappointing, and lackluster. But I'll still keep my eyes open for more from this author.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book.

The Surrogate: A gripping psychological thriller with an incredible twist - Louise Jensen

Wow what a page turner! I could not put this book down.

Kat and Nick have been trying to have a baby for years. Nothing is working for them. Into Kat's life reappears Lisa, a friend, her best friend from 10 years ago.

Lisa learns of Kat's problem and offers to be a surrogate stating that she's done it before. That's when all the suspicions start.

This was super crazy with the plot twists. I blamed everyone and came up with the worst scenarios throughout this whole book. Of course, I was wrong. Yay! And yes, the ending was jaw dropping! I totally did not see it coming!

The first thing I did when I finished reading this book was tell my friends. This one fits right up their alley as a unputdownable thriller!

An absolutely entertaining book that I thoroughly enjoyed!
