New Purchases
And these are all of the reasons that I am broke right now. The first pile was purchased at the Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Fair. They are all signed! I met two fellow blogging friends, Char of Char's Horror Corner and Andi of Andreya's Asylum and it was so great to meet them in person. Next year I hope I can overcome my shyness a little better. It didn't stop me from spending all of my money in about ten minutes though!
NEWS & REMINDERS: We continue to be busy little bees over at the Ladies of Horror Fiction website. We have new reviews, guest posts, interviews and episode #2 of the podcast was released on Tuesday. You can listen to it hereToni talks about the history of Halloween, urban legends featuring women, new releases, current reads and a whole lot more.

Our Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier Community Wide Readalong starts November 4th. Are you ready?  Click on the pic below for all of the details.

I read some great books in June and am keeping my fingers crossed that my streak continues into July. Five of them were from my physical TBR pile but sadly two of those ended up being DNF's. One book wasn't for me, one tried to kill my dog and the last was just a mess.

Just like June, I'm hoping to catch up on more of my review copies, both audio & print, and am hoping to have a buddy read with my friend Char's Horror Corner. We'll see how that goes as the start to this month has been not so good and I am terrible Buddy Read partner! What are you all up to?

My Tardy May Wrap-up

I just realized I haven't done one of these since March of 2017. I am nothing if not inconsistent!

Well, looks like I read mostly great books so yay but only three of them were from my physical TBR pile. Better than zero, I suppose! I learned a few things when looking back at my books in May, mainly that I am pretty much finished with any sort of thriller written from the FBI or investigators POV and that I need to weed my tbr of most of the YA titles hiding in there because they don't grab me. Horror is still my first and forever love and twisted serial killers are still working for me but I do need a little romance thrown in to break up the darkness.

This month I'm hoping to catch up on my review copies, both audio & print, and maybe read at least one TBR book but that's not looking too good :) How's your June looking?

I think that does it!

May was a slow month for the blog. We went on vacation to Grand Cayman. I’ll be putting a post together to showcase all the fun pictures and things we did, but here is a little Cayman Sunset for you ^_^.

Beside our vacation my son has 1 week – 5 days of school left, before Summer Vacation. OMG where did the time go? My little kindergartner is growing up. Here is some of what he did throughout the year.

Empowering my kid to read!!

We received our 1st Prime Book Box for Kids this month. You can check it out on the post HERE. My son loved getting a surprise package in the mail.

During the school year they send home those Scholastic Book Club papers, where you can order books for your kids and help support the school. I remember as a kid getting my books from the Scholastic. At the time it was the only way to get books unless you had a store near you, which we didn’t. For my son I hadn’t order anything all year, but deiced that this is the last one coming, so I ordered the Dog Man Books and some Ninjago combo pack of books. My son likes both! He is a 6-year-old boy ^_^.

Next up I had a flower growing in my garden that I didn’t know what it was. I asked and everyone said an Iris, well when it bloomed it was an Iris. It’s a leftover from the previous home owner and I’m glad I kept watering it, so I could enjoy.

Mother’s Day was in May and my hubby and son got me KLASK: The Magnetic Game of Skill. It’s fun!!

Last a few other things on the blog: I set up a page that showcases what My Stars Mean. You will no longer see this on the side bar now that it has it’s own page. Under Reviews in the top bar you can now see the Audiobook Review List, Audiobook Reviews by Narrator List, Book Reviews Alphabetized by Author List, and last Movie Review List. That’s all the new changes to the blog besides the Privacy Policy added to the Policies Page under the About at the top bar menu.

May I Suggest Hop – Erin M was the winner and she picked an eCopy of How to Save an Undead Life

With May being the month we celebrate Mother’s Day I got a kick out of this post featured over at Vampire Book Club – 5 Worst Moms in Urban Fantasy.
