Mozilla Firefox not showing history:

Mozilla Firefox is not showing history, or you are getting an error message as "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional." Maybe one of Firefox's files is in use by another application, or perhaps a group of security software is causing this issue. Here, the officials of Mozilla Firefox Tech Support have come up with two possible solutions of the concerned problem.

Restart your computer

There are situations when a different program uses the file or a problem with the file that was caused by a power failure (while the computer was shut off unexpectedly). To deal with the concerned, you could restart your computer and then the Firefox browser. Dial Mozilla Firefox Customer Service for further assistance. Highly skilled tech support engineers are committed to help you in the best possible way they can do it.

Create a new places database

  • Click on the menu button, click Help, and select Troubleshooting Information
  • The Troubleshooting Information tab will open
  • Click on Open Folder under the Application Basics section
  • Your profile folder will open
  • Create the Firefox menu and click Exit
  • Wait until Firefox browser has completely quit
  • Go to the Firefox profile folder
  • Here you need to rename the places.sqlite, places.sqlite-shm (if it exists) and places.sqlite-wal (if it exists) files
  • Make right-click on it and select Rename
  • Then you need to add .old to the end of its name
  • Reopen Firefox then
  • A new places database will create when the Firefox reopens
  • Your browsing history will be lost
  • But the Firefox will automatically import your bookmarks from the most recent backup file

Bookmarks and toolbar buttons are not working after upgrading

Are your browsing history not saving or bookmarks disappearing? Perhaps your web browser stored your bookmarks and browsing history in the "Places database" file (places.sqlite), which is located in the profile folder. Apart from these two, the concerned problem may lead many functions for not working. If you are facing any of these problems, exit all other programs and exit Firefox completely. Otherwise, you could dial Mozilla Firefox Technical Support and ask for assistance.
