NEET 2020 Syllabus and Eligibility

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses like MBBS, MD, MS, BDS and MDS in government or private medical colleges in India. The undergraduate NEET for MBBS and BDS courses is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency, which gives the results to the Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Earlier to 2019, the test was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education in partnership with Prometric Testing Pvt Ltd head office in the USA. NEET-UG replaced the AIPMT and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states themselves in 2013. However, many colleges and institutes had got a stay order and conducted private exams for admission to their MBBS and BDS programs. Last NEET-UG was held on 6 May 2018 and results were announced on4 June of the same year.

 

NEET-UG is an individual entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats over India. In 2018 NEET examination, around 80% of the students give the exam in English, 11% in Hindi, 3% in Bengali, 4.31% in Gujarati and 1.86% in Tamil. Undergraduate programs at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research are outside the NEET’s purview, as these institutes were set up by separate rules.

 

 

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is popularly known as NEET, is the gateway for Medical & Dental Under Graduate Courses offered by India’s famous Medical colleges. The score of the NEET Exam is considered by all the medical colleges to provide admission in various MBBS/BDS courses.

 

Every year lakhs of students appear in this exam, which is the reason behind the increased competition level of NEET. This is an entrance exam which tests your knowledge of Physics, Biology and Chemistry subjects.
