Review: Kidnapped by the Pirate
Kidnapped by the Pirate: Gay Romance - Keira Andrews,Cornell Collins

M/M historical romance.  The story was well put together.  It held my attention and made my heart race in all the right  places.

Nathaniel is sailing to a New World Colony with his sister when they are set upon by pirates.  As it turns out this is the very Privateer turned pirate at the betrayal of Nathaniel's father.  Once the Hawk knows who he has in his midst, he kidnaps Nathaniel as he is the only son and heir of his bitter enemy.  Hawk's plan in to ransom Nathaniel and finally visit revenge upon the man that took his legal life as a Privateer away.  What Hawk doesn't count on is falling for his captive.  Romance, mutiny and adventure ensues.

The plot was good, the characters were likeable, the romance was sweet and hot where it needed to be.  The narration was spot-on.  There was emotion and I felt as though I were truly "hearing" the characters.   Job well done.

Reading progress update: I've listened 300 out of 606 minutes.
Kidnapped by the Pirate: Gay Romance - Keira Andrews,Cornell Collins

This is pretty damn good. Good story, and hotness. I'm happy with this pick.

Review: A Pirate's Heart
A Pirate's Heart - Catherine Friend

I listened to the audiobook but it wasn't listed here and I was too lazy to add another edition.

The narrator didn't do the story any favors. No offense meant to the author, who also is the narrator, but it was not good.  I got no emotion from her and her pronunciations on certain things just irked me.

The story was decent enough.  It jumped back and forth between the past following Thomasina Farris, a pirate captain and the future following Emma, a librarian who was researching Captain Tommy and her truth of her life, death and buried treasure.  The back and forth was surprisingly not annoying; the author did a good job transitioning between the two stories.

It was a lesbian love story in both the past and future and as stated in the narrative, I love a good pirate story, especially when the captain is a woman.    It was the story that kept me going as even putting it to x2.0 speed couldn't help with the narrator's lack of passion in the reading.  Don't think I would get another audiobook if the author narrates; however, I think I would read another of her books.

Thea's journey...
Taken by Space Pirates: A SciFi Alien Romance (Bound to the Alien Book 2) - Flora Dare

I received an ARC of 'Taken by Space Pirates' from Flora Dare, in exchange for my honest review.

After reading the "Alpha Alien" serial, I was left wondering just what was happening to Thea in all this time... Well I don't need to wonder any more, this is Thea's story, her very eye opening journey. From the very start of this action packed read I was riveted, I NEEDED to know just what happened next, which kept me reading until the end of the book. So much information was inside this book, but also there where some painful scenes. This was longer than I expected, but I still devoured it in no time.

You don't have to read book 1 'Alpha Alien' in the "Bound to the Alien" series to fully understand what's happening in this book, but it wouldn't hurt to read them first. I can't wait to read what comes next in this "Bound to the Alien" series from Flora Dare.
