4 Out Of 5 "she takes bad mommy to a whole new level" STARS
Lying in Wait - Liz Nugent

~BOOK BLURB~

Lying In Wait

Liz Nugent

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My husband did not mean to kill Annie Doyle, but the lying tramp deserved it.
On the surface, Lydia Fitzsimons has the perfect life—wife of a respected, successful judge, mother to a beloved son, mistress of a beautiful house in Dublin. That beautiful house, however, holds a secret. And when Lydia’s son, Laurence, discovers its secret, wheels are set in motion that lead to an increasingly claustrophobic and devastatingly dark climax.
~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What do they say about that bond between Mothers and their Sons?  Well, whatever it is that they say…this mommy takes it way too far.  Kind of like Norma Bates in Psycho.

The writing or the flow was superb and this was compelling readable even though there were a few things I found lacking in it.  I wanted a bigger reveal with what was really going on.  It was somewhat anti-climatic.  Plus the characters were so glum and the atmosphere and the era was a touch depressing.  The ending…I'm not even sure how I felt about that ending.  I guess it fits with the story…crazy.

My cover looks like this...I just didn't feel like changing it on here:

Secrets of a Scandalous Heiress
Secrets of a Scandalous Heiress - Theresa Romain

Augusta was someone who stood out to me in the previous book, so I was excited to read her story. I thought this had a slow start, but once it got going, I got into it. I really liked that Joss and Augusta were non-titled and on the outside of society. I liked that Joss finally accepted his Indian heritage at the end.
I thought Joss was the perfect hero. Kind, empathetic, ambitious. He was absolutely an awesome Beta hero. While I liked that Joss professed his feelings first, I wish Augusta had been more empathetic to him. While I did like her, I thought she was selfish.
A good end to the trilogy. (But no Matchmaker in this one).

For Ripped Bodice Bingo- I'm using this for the "Hero smells like MAN" square. Augusta repeatedly mentions Joss's sandalwood fragrance.
