Secrets to the Grave - Tami Hoag

This was pretty fucked up. I liked it, not as well as The 9th Girl, but it held my interest. I liked most of the characters: Tony, Vince, Anne. I was super disturbed, too. I mean all murder mysteries are gross, but this one, was...yeah, it was nasty. I liked that I couldn't immediately figure it all out, that it kept my mind working and trying put all the pieces together. I think maybe I was a little disappointed with how it was resolved, but worth the read.

From today through next Sunday, I will be knee deep in read-a-thons. Since the 2nd COYER Read-a-thon rules stipulate that only print books can be read, I decided to make 24 in 48 all physical books as well. Some of the books are new to my COYER reading list, as they can be read for Pop Sugar challenge prompt fillers. I am also hoping that some of these books can be used for the Ripped Bodice Bingo, because I would like at least one bingo on that card.

1. A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson (Pop Sugar: Set in Wilderness) (Library Love Challenge)

2. Chaucer's Major Tales by Michael Hoy and Michael Stevens (Pop Sugar: Book mentioned in another book - Chaucer's Canterbury Tales was mentioned extensively in one chapter of London: The Novel by Edward Rutherford) (Library Love Challenge)

3. The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (Pop Sugar: Interesting Woman) (Library Love Challenge)

4. The Son of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus #2) by Rick Riordan/adapted to graphic novel format by Robert Venditti (Pop Sugar: Mythology) (Library Love Challenge)

5. A Sultry Love Song by Kianna Alexander

6. The Greek Tycoon's Green Card Groom by Kate McMurray

7. Secret Agent Under Fire by Geri Krotow

8. Killer Countdown by Amelia Autin

9. The Soldier's Secrets by Naomi Rawlings

10. Falling for the Enemy by Naomi Rawlings

Steamy read with suspense
Dirty Little Secrets - A.J. Nuest

This is a steamy love story with danger lurking around the corner. The chemistry between Xander and Charlie is strong and happens fast. These two will do anything for each other. I really enjoyed reading this story and did not want to put it down. This is the second in a series but the books stand alone although characters come and go from the other book. I look forward to the next installment.

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

The Secrets She Keeps - Michael Robotham

Yowsa! I stayed up late reading this one!

Agatha, who is pregnant, has become obsessed with a customer (Meghan) who comes into the grocery store where she stocks the shelves. Agatha is stalking Meghan, unbeknownst to her, trying to imbibe herself into Meghan's life. Meghan has a nice house, a TV sports announcer husband, and two children (a perfect set, a boy and girl). She's a stay at home with her own blog wherein she posts about the daily life of a married homemaker with two children discussing their antics. Meghan is also pregnant, Agatha soon discovers.

Meghan and Agatha become friends. However, Meghan is unaware of the secrets of Agatha's past and how those secrets will absolutely crush her world.

A book filled with suspense, action, danger and the craziness of the thoughts in Agatha's head together with her secret past made this a very enjoyable book that I could not put down. Agatha's thoughts and how she sees the world is jaw dropping and unbelievable.

Thanks to Scibner and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
