CRAZY FOR THE COWBOY by Cindy Spencer Pape
Crazy for the Cowboy (Love at the Crazy H) - Cindy Spencer Pape

Ree has inherited her great uncle's bookshop. Moving to Wyoming she packs up his things but decides to stay and reopen his store. She meets the sheriff under very interesting circumstances. Both have pasts that they need to deal with in order to move into a life together.

I enjoyed Ree and Fitz, the sheriff. I liked how Ree makes decisions and moves forward to make them happen. She is starting over and makes a few mistakes but she has a good heart as does Fitz though he tries to hide it. The secondary characters are good especially Lily, Harry, Jack, and Singing Bird. Fitz's family is large but welcoming to Ree.

I hope there are more stories at the Crazy H.

"Each writer had such a unique voice, and each piece was a different experience. A great collection about love, not always about romance." ~ The Faerie Review

"These books have now become my take of a literary surprise treat, they are full of author goodness and I can't wait to dive in to them. If you're looking for a nice comfortable read with warmth, humor, emotion, and fun, then this wonderful collection is for you. " ~ Beck Valley Books

"This is one of those books where you can take your time-do not rush. You will want to think about each one, absorb it into your psyche. They are all short so you will be able to find the time to read. But I have a feeling-like me, you will be picking it up again as soon as you are able." ~ Miki's Hope

**Limited time sale 0.99!** - Book review on historical fiction Love Under the Stars
Love Under the Stars (The Brashear Series Book 1) - Kathleen Shoop
**Limited time sale 0.99!**
Book review on historical fiction Love Under the Stars (The Brashear Series Book 1) by Kathleen Shoop

Kathleen Shoop and historical romance, what is there not to love? The author jumped to the top of my list in this genre as soon as she hooked me with The Letter Series and I've never looked back. Here, with Love Under the Stars, is another prime example of why I simply love her writing! I drifted into the storyline with ease, the surroundings, the characters, the emotions, all felt real as if I was there as an observer watching it all unfold in front of me. I love reading how different life was back then compared to how it is now, I sometimes wonder if it was simpler in a way even though it was harsher times.

The two adorable main characters, Phoebe and John, enjoy the journey of first love, yet are torn between their love and loyalty. I felt my heart pull for them as they secretly fall in love, knowing that in reality it wouldn't be that easy to follow their dreams together. Young, big hearted Phoebe strives to keep her parents and family happy in their lives, centred around her love of cooking and caring for others she understands, as she has been told many times by her father, that she is destined to live as a single woman to serve her family. John is a lovely, thoughtful, and determined character, who comes from a loving and encouraging family, who brings love, nature and wonder to Phoebe's domestic life.

They are a match made in heaven in this quaint, cosy tale that pulls on your emotions hoping that their love will win through against the odds.

An easy
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s

Last night I registered myself and the kids for our local public library's Summer Reading Program, which starts June 1st. I already received my first "badge" which was "Coffee and Books" - very fitting Beanstack, even if I drink tea not coffee. The program for the kids will be done via two ways: FB Live for story time, and then parents go the library and pick up materials for the hands on part of the program to do at home. Honestly, this works for me and the kids - who knew the social distancing methods would work so well with mine and the kids temperaments?

Today the kids and I participated in the "reverse parade" where parents drive their kids to school to caravan along the sidewalk and say goodbye to the teachers and staff (the last two social distances parades had the teachers caravan through the different neighborhoods that feed into our school). I received a succulent from Sophia's teacher as a thank you gift for helping out in the classroom this year.  After, we went to Starbucks for apple juice and cake pops to celebrate - Joshua is now a 4th grader and Sophia is now a 2nd grader!

Looking towards this holiday weekend, I am working my way through 1666, which will be my prime reading choice so I can officially finish Snakes and Ladders 2020. Then on Monday, I start my summer reading project with daily reading in the anthology Because He's Perfect. The novellas Random Number Generator picked for me this upcoming week are Dance All Night, Love By the Letter, Proper English, Mail Order Cowboy, and The Cost of Hope. So that is what I'm reading this weekend/week.

Happy Reading and if you are in the US, Happy Memorial Day!

Audiobook Review: Secrets (Finding Love: The Outsider Series # 4) by Lorhainne Eckhart (Author), Melissa Moran (Narrator)
Secrets (The Outsider #4) - Lorhainne Eckhart,Melissa Moran

Eckhart has a gift for bringing the senses alive. Her stories are soulful looks at life and love through less than perfect eyes. Secrets is a puzzle where nothing actually fits. Diana and Jed thought they'd weathered their stormy pasts until an accidental starts to unravel it all. A powerful look at what love truly means and the danger that lives within the unknown.
