Hop and Chomp: A Caterpillar Story: Children’s Books – Picture Books for Kids – Story Books for Children – Beginner Book for Children – Age 3-7 - Gita V. Reddy,Gita V. Reddy

Hop and Chomp by Gita V. Reddy
This colorful children's book is about a grasshopper who is named Hop. He hops very well.
He sees an egg on a leaf and he watches it wiggle free. It just chomps on leafs all day. As time goes on he changes form and Hop introduces him to his other insect friends.
Chomp just wants to chomp all day as he goes through yet more changes to his body.
What I love about this book is it is not just for young children but for older ones as well as they may not be familiar with what happens to the egg then caterpillar.
Fun and educational along the way. Love the ending where other characteristics of the insect are discussed. Rangoili the art form of India is also discussed and shown in diagrams. Author bio and other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Love this series as it's so easy for a child to follow along and they don't realize they are learning things.
I received this book from the author and this is my honest review.

BOOKS FOR CHILDREN OF THE WORLD: THE STORY OF JELLA LEPMAN by Sydelle Pearl
Books for Children of the World: The Story of Jella Lepman - Sydelle Pearl,Danlyn Iantorno
After WWII Jella Lepman returns to Germany to help determine what the children need. She learns they want books. This is the story of how she gets books into the hands of the children.

I enjoyed this book. I found it interesting how she found funding to start a library. I also liked that she took the initiative to get books printed that she could give to the children. The book was Ferdinand the Bull, which was a favorite of mine from childhood.

I recommend this book for 7-10 year olds.

A Little Story about the Elephant Who Couldn't Fall Asleep by Penelope Cole
Children's picture book: A Little Story about the Elephant Who Couldn't Fall Asleep: Bedtime story(Beginner reader, Books for kids, Children Books, Books for Kids age 2-10, Bedtime & Dreaming Books) - Penelope Cole

A Little Story about the Elephant Who Couldn't Fall Asleep by Penelope Cole is a charming children's book for beginning readers, ages two to ten. I enjoyed the illustrations and the writing. I gave it four stars.

I did not think that "obeisant" was a good choice of words for this age group. Muffin the elephant thought of pleasant things to help him fall asleep. This time, it did not work. He counted sheep. That didn't work either. Then he thought something he had forgotten was keeping him awake. When he realized what it was, he did it and then immediately after went to sleep.

All My Stripes
All My Stripes: A Story for Children with Autism - Shaina Rudolph,Danielle Royer,Jennifer Zivoin

All My Stripes will be used in my future classroom, it is an extremely creative book showing children's differences and. It shows children how to love themselves, even if they are different and I think that is so important as a teacher. I would use this book for a lesson on diversity. The intended audience would be kindergarten to third grade.
