Short Review: The plot was interesting. The tiny twist thou, was annoying! (view spoiler) The Boy MC (i can not spell his name) was boring, i didn't like his POV and skimmed some of his parts, boringgggg. The Girl MC, i loved her, very badass, very strong! I don't really understand a good amount of the world building they did thou, like the things that killed at night? Was that them?! I was so confused there... It does have a very Divergent feel to it thou. Then the ending, how cliche. No.

Misc.

Book Boyfriend: no

Best Friend Material: Girl MC

DNF @ 55%
The Murder Complex - Lindsay Cummings

*sigh* Nope, can't finish this one. I don't even feel guilty, because I honestly gave it a good run. It's not often that I keep trying, for over half a book, to feel like I'm invested. This one just didn't click with me.

When you don't like either character, and then there is insta-love, that's pretty much a sign to get out of dodge. I kept going though, until this mystery presented itself that felt like it should have been tension filled but instead felt really campy.

So no more of this book for me. Moving on.

Interesting :)
The Murder Complex - Lindsay Cummings

It was very slow at the beginning, but after around 80 pages it was already rushing.
Overall it was an interesting story and I would say that the book is quite easy to read... well, maybe if there were not so much description... I think author went a bit too far with "bright" disgusting images.
As I said - the story is interesting, but not very exciting. I want to check out a second book tho, cuz I think it wont take me a lot of time to read and as I heard - story gets much better in it.

One thing that sets me off - instalove. I am not a big fan of the scenario where "we know each other for 30 minutes, I would take a bullet for you" thing. It seemed too unreal and sugary-sweet for me. But it is just a matter of taste and it doesn't really effect the story.

I would recommend it - it is a good, solid dystopian ya book.
I will continue to read this story.

Review: The Murder Complex
The Murder Complex - Lindsay Cummings

Super excited to read this debut, I read it in just a few hours. I really loved the movement of the plot and the setting.

Plot: Since I have not read an dystopian book in a while, I thought it was time to dive into one. I have heard many good things about this book and yes, it was very good. The plot is in the future where a disease has ravaged the human race. A cure was found but not without consequences. Now all humans are traced through a system. That system is more complex than what the reader ever thought. One thing I enjoyed with the plot is the following the bread crumbs to more information. I love that the author didn’t divulge information right away, but slowly gave the reader bits and pieces of it.

The initiative: I really like this aspect of the story. The story of the disease, the cure and what other stuff the scientist has done is crazy good. If your the type of reader who like science as well as experiments, you will definitely get into the story.

Irony: I think this book has quite of bit of irony in it. The heroine is more than what we thought as well as the guy. I love the aspect of what they were created for and the secrets at the end. It kept me well on the edge of my seat!

Overall, this is a great story. The Murder Complex is vivid yet entertaining. As the story unfolds, The Murder Complex captures the reader with a riveting plot and high action.
