A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 - George R.R. Martin,Tommy Patterson,Daniel Abraham

I only realky picked this up cause it was a 1.99 ebook. I really liked that the art for the characters is based off the books, and not the show. I've read the novel A Game of Thrones about 4 times now so the story is the story. I've seen other reviews that said this might be hard to follow if you hadn't read the first novel. I can't say either way cause ASOIAF is my fandom, and I've spent countless hours obsessing over it. So the story is deeply inbeded in my psyche. Even though ASOIAF is fandom I probably won't continue with these due to pricing. I actually liked the Dunk and Egg comics a bit more, but these are nice too, just super pricey.

Making a mockery of the US presidential election process (#1-#6)
Citizen Jack #1 - Sam Humphries,Tommy Patterson

This is a review of issues #1 - #6

A interesting dig at the American presidential election process, this comic collection depicts a small-town Minnesotan snowblower salesman join the presidential race, backed by a demon. His anti-government/establishment rantings (see Trump) gain him popularity among the ignorant electorate and real policies take a back seat. This is a good satire about manipulating the public in elections and is particularly appropriate to the US electoral process where vast amounts of money are invested in candidates (a bit of a waste in my opinion).

Entertaining and thought-provoking – worth a look with clear illustrations.

When some creature from Spawn starts telling you what to do...
Citizen Jack #1 - Sam Humphries,Tommy Patterson

Maybe you should think twice?   Instead, Jack Northanger decides he wants to become president, and if some crazy, demon-y looking thing that cackles in glee a lot is telling him to become president?   Well, I guess he's just hunky dory with that shit right there.

And don't get me wrong, this is creepy as fuck, but that fucker kinda looks like Violator, so, I dunno, I'd kinda run.

This looks like it's working up to be a twisted tale of politics and ambition, with a creepy, supernatural, and horror-y twist.   It's fun, and I can see why Jack needs this: divorced, with a failing business, and people around him constantly putting him down, yeah, he needs a win.

I also want to smack him for not smacking faux Violator.

I only got issue one via a sampler from Humble Bundle, but I'd gladly continue with this series.

A Game of Thrones: Comic Book, Issue 3
A Game of Thrones: Comic Book, Issue 3 - Daniel Abraham,George R.R. Martin,Tommy Patterson

Whooo, there's Arya and Sansa in the opening scene. I believe this is the best one so far. The graphics are less irritating and the story pace picked up a notch, making me finish this one in less than ten minutes.

The Hound looks exactly like I would've pictured him from reading the books. Khal Drogo looks amazing(ly hot).

This drawing is actually from the first issue, but who cares: hawtness!

There are quite a bit of boobies in this one, but so are there in the normal books and, well, hello HBO(OB). I'm giving this one 4 brownies.
