This is the best break-up song I've heard in a long time.
I was once a huge fan of the HBO show. After a certain someone died, the show grew stale and boring for me. Anyway, back when I was a raging fanboy of the show's and I didn't realize that Daenerys was supposed to be a preteen, I bought all the audiobooks. Because I paid for them, I can't just NOT listen to them. I'm too OCD for that shit. So I'm going through on x3 speed while playing the new RTS game I bought for my tablet. I call this Cruise Control. It's yet another reason I'm able to read as much as I do and still have time for family and writing.
Concerning the book: All of Daenerys's chapters so far have been disturbing. I can't image writing sex scenes involving a 13 year old, but Martin does it as if he means for it to be tantalizing. I can't get her age out of my head. I'll be glad when
Drogo dies, and then I won't have to listen to that shit anymore.
The Delight
Strong heroine meets Alpha MC President. Fireworks from page one, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering if they will give in to love or travel their own paths in the life they have been dealt.
You never really quite know what you are getting into when you pick up a MC Romance. It could be violent or sweet (yeah, I just read a sweet one). It can pull at your heart strings while also making you cringe at the violence. Well, this one slanted to the violent side with rival MCs trying to take over the town they live in. Truces? A thing of the past. Betrayal? Abounds. Love? Doesn't come easy.
Arianne Hunter has been given a raw deal in life. Daughter to an MC President, sister to a druggie who she is trying to get out of the club and a dead mother who she is sure was killed by her father. When a fateful night of escape comes, Arianne's brother is gone, but so are the fake IDs they needed to escape. Out to save him from a job he is doing for the club, she inadvertently becomes the one they blame. A dead club member of a rival club, no one else to blame and evidence stacking up she was involved, "Lucy's" got some explaining to do :)
Alpha to the bone, Jagger Knight runs his MC, Sinner's Tribe with an iron fist. Fair, but also brutal, he takes what he wants and says to Hell with the rest. When a beauty pops up as the bad guy, he can't really believe it, but he is also attracted to her. But the shit hits the fan when they all find out who she really belongs to.
While there is violence in the story, it is of the milder kind that what I have read in other MCs. These two have the added problem of being from rival MCs with a warrior about to explode. In the end Arianne just wants freedom. Freedom from her father, MCs, the town she lives in and the life she has no choice in. That desire fights with the internal voice that says Jagger is her soulmate. I understood her vulnerability and the need to get out, but at times she held onto her dream for the sake of holding on when something else better might be there for her.
Jagger *sigh* while really rough around the edges is a man with huge amounts of honor. While not everything is wonderful about him, he does support Arianna when no one else will. The balance between getting what he wants and respecting her needs often battles within him. Breaking his heart if she leaves he still gives her the choice when no one else will. He really grabbed my heart, but I wanted to Gibbs smack him a few times. The Sinner's Tribe are criminals. Not going to lie to you.
While I am not a huge fan of MC romances, mostly because of the criminal aspect, I do find the men to be oh so yummy and the women the fiercest protectors. There is a wide variety of story lines in MC romances and I would say this had it really violent moments and lightly violent moments, its really cheesy moments and its very loving moments. As far as MC romances, I would say it runs the middle of the road. Not too watered down, but then not over the top.
Rough Justice also splits ways with other MC romances....it's not in 1st person POV. Seriously that alone made me happier than a boy figuring out he has a penis. I got two sides of the story and then some, but I loved seeing each perspective without all the I, I , I, me, me, me going on.
For a good time, don't call a number, pick up this book and enjoy a romance that isn't easy, but has lots of passion.

Author and Series
Christmas is over, but you never really want to let go. So I picked up a book I thought would be a good way to say good bye to the season, but it fell flat even with a good premise.
JJ is serving time after killing her abusive stepdad after finding her mother dead by his hand. A lousy defense and 10 years of parole hearings have left her rotting in prison. With over crowding in the prisons, the Canadian government needs a way to reduce population in the form of a Freedom Run. JJ signs up never thinking she will be accepted until she is and now life gets to start over.
Extremely claustrophobic, JJ is medicated for the flight out to a remote ranch where she will cook, clean and help three cowboys run an organic beef ranch. She doesn't think being stuck on a remote ranch will help her problems with a fear of closed in spaces, but she is free on parole so she will do anything to keep that.
Brady is a former lawyer, Dan a chiropractor and Rafe a jack of all trades. They set up this remote cattle ranch and love every minute of it. Including the tons of snow that seems to be falling all the time. Brady instantly falls for JJ, but he wasn't expecting woman. That throws a wrench in his plans. It doesn't take long for Dan and Rafe to also fall hard for her.
So life goes pretty regularly for a bit with JJ creaming her panties over these men just looking at them. (Have I ever mentioned how I hate the word cream used like this...well I do.) They hear her masturbating in the shower and they all steal kisses from her. Within no time at all, they seem to be falling into bed with the great menage on Christmas Day.
I really wanted to love this story. It had such heart for a young woman who was really wrongly convicted. You want happiness for her, which she gets, but it all seemed very silly. In three days she puts in 3 different sized butt plugs for the grand finale. She wears them for what seems to be long lengths of time. I wanted to ask the indelicate question of when did she have time....to well...go if you get my meaning.
The story ends abruptly. Just bang. Done. The sex was kind of boring. Yeah, she gets pounded by three different cowboys, then all three at the same time, but I just couldn't get into it. I ended up skimming to get to the end...and bang it was there like I made a wish.
So if you are looking for a menage story with a little heart, then you have it. If you are looking for a great menage story, then I would head over to Nothing Between Us for a deeper look into love in a triad.

The Delight
Eve Langlais knocked me over with a wonderfully funny romance between a demon, a witch and the matchmaker, Lucifer. These two (or three) can’t be serious for any amount of time, but when they finally get down and dirty, they blow me away to the damn mortal world. *sobs*
Let me introduce you to a demon named Remy. He is a man whore, loving women and leaving them…and if they don’t leave he introduces them to his crazy mom. Then there is Ysabel the witch, burned at the stake by her lovers mother. Upon her death she made a pack with the devil for revenge on five souls. Then there is Lucifer, who is trying to build up is big badass army after fighting Lilith. While he is truly evil, he does have a softer side for his wife and daughters. But back to the big badass army. Lucifer need more than grunts, so now he is in the matchmaking business so these woefully lovers can start punching out babies.
Now days before her contract is up with Lucifer, the five souls she went after have escaped Hell prison. No one knows who or how they got out, but Ysabel now relives her death each day by burning alive. No damage is done, but she feels the pain of her death. For each day the souls are free, adds another minute to her suffering. Needing a tracker, Lucifer assigns Remy, his best, to help Ysabel.
Remy is one demon I would let eat crackers in my bed. His life of love ‘em and leave ‘em is well, boring. He can’t even believe he’s ready to settle down. And when he meets Ysabel, the sparks fly, but just not exactly the way he wants. See, she has trust issues with how her lover didn’t fight for her in the end and was just using her. So she is in essence a 500 year old remade virgin.
They spare, they duck, they kiss up against a wall and they fight each other to the end, but Remy has made up his mind the witch is his. Oh, *fans myself* I can’t get enough of Remy. He’s everything I want a demon to be and more. Never really serious, but knows all the right things to do to win his woman. Loyal to the end, he is just what Ysabel needs to restore her faith in men.
Ysabel is a bad assed woman that I would love to meet. She takes no crap off Lucifer. I mean the man is in charge of Hell and she gives him Hell as his assistant. Never giving into Remy, she tries to hide everything going on from him, because it’s her burden to bear. But she knows when a good thing is in front of her even if she doesn’t want to admit it.
Oh, and crazy parents make the best in-laws and it doesn’t hurt that Lucifer is in charge too.
This left me laughing and loving through the entire book. Now I really know what everyone turns to Eve Langlais for laughter, passion and a good dose of evil!
