Twice a Month Update #3

Yikes. So I got a bit in a book rut the first half of February, and then went on overdrive in the second and have just been putting off writing this or any reviews.  My overall reading goal is safe, but unfortunately the goodreads group I joined with the yearlong challenge has dictated most of my reading so far. I love the group, but I can't read manga for it so that aspect has suffered.

Books finished since last update:

  • Ghost of a Gamble by Sue Ann Jaffarian
  • Golden Sun by Pierce Brown
  • Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloane
  • Burned by Karen Marie Moning, narrated by Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross
  • Proof by Seduction by Courtney Milan
  • Daja's Book by Tamora Pierce
  • Hyperion by Dan Simmons, narrated by Marc Vietor, Allyson Johnson, Kevin Pariseau, Jay Snyder, and Victor Bevine

  • The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Potzsch
  • Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler
  • Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer

Twice a Month Update #2

Still ahead of schedule. My reading has slowed down a bit since the main challenge I was reading for is done, but the overall challenge runs the entire year. It is deciding my books for me a bit more than I'd prefer, but I'm managing to work in what I want to read where I can.

Twice a Month Update #1

Okay, starting these off again, but I probably won't be firm about the 1st and 15th. I'll try for those days, but won't be beholden to them. I'm also dropping the fortnightly part, since I wasn't doing that. I do still like the word.

2015 has started off strong due to me joining a group on goodreads where we are all sorted into Hogwarts houses and compete and I had to read a lot for one challenge. Only one of the books I have finished this year was for that challenge. I love the group (go Slytherin), but I am worried that the amount of challenges is dictating what I read more than I am. Still, I am off to a much better start in 2015 that I was at this time last year.

Books finished in 2015:

  • Gravity by Melissa West
  • Gem of a Ghost by Sue Ann Jaffarian
  • Red Rising by Pierce Brown
  • Pacific Rim by Alex Irvine, Narrated by Christian Rummel and Jay Snyder
  • Charlotte Collins: A Continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice by Jennifer Becton
  • The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
  • Charming by Elliott James
  • Talon by Julie Kagawa
  • How to Break a Dragon's Heart by Cressida Cowell, Narrated by David Tennant
  • Oracle's Moon by Thea Harrison
  • This Wicked Gift by Courtney Milan
  • The Giver by Lois Lowry
  • The Chronicles of Pern by Anne McCaffrey
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne
  • One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
