Video game torrents

After a year off, Need for Speed has the series coasting back over familiar turf, resurrecting the spirit of 2003 and 2004’s successful Underground games. It is, at least, a more clearly distinct game than the last few NFS instalments were from one another. It looks incredible, sounds fantastic, and while the handling is still standard arcade fare developer Ghost Games has added a welcome dose of nuance by letting us tune our cars for either grip or drift. However, the single-player component is over too soon, the multiplayer underdelivers, the cut-scene dialogue often had me wincing, and the game is stung by the side-effects of being online-only.

One of the first things you’ll notice when tackling the front of your car is the ability to modify your stance. Whether you are changing the ride height by slamming it to the ground, raising it up, or anything in between, you choose your perfect ride height. Throw in options for rake and both front and rear track width, and you’re on your way to creating something truly unique. Suspension tuning is finished up with your camber. With the angle on both the front and rear wheels being set independently you’ve got the ability to create some truly out of this world looking cars. The Video game torrents  version has new features, including unlocked framerate with 4K resolution, manual transmission, and steering wheel support for a selection of steering wheels.

It is immediately extremely pretty, though. There are dark and gritty instances where it feels a little like the whole thing has been shot on Michael Mann’s iPhone, but racing at speed through the soaked streets here (particularly in bumper cam) is really something else. The cars glisten with beaded water droplets and the streets gleam, a shiny tapestry of mirror-like asphalt reflecting artificial light from all angles. Need for Speed also sounds nearly as good as it looks; the throaty burble of performance-tuned engines is well-realised and the crackle of exhaust overrun and the ker-chunk of slamming gears is similarly respectable. However, the sudden, jarring transitions from the dead of night, to pre-dawn, and then back to night again are horribly ill-conceived. These transitions seem to be baked into parts of the environment so they can actually happen multiple times over the course of a single race.

The game tasks players to survive in the wilderness by crafting items using the materials they gather or steal; the player starts with only a rock and a torch. There is only a multiplayer mode and a prevalent concept in Rust is to form and join clans with other players. Raiding is a very common action, usually done in large clans. Since Rust’s first alpha launch, animals, hunting and the ability to craft armor and weapons have been added. It initially featured zombies as enemies, but subsequently replaced them with bears and wolves. Radiation was also removed due to the frustration it was causing players.

Throughout Rust’s alpha release, it has been met with mixed critic reviews and many comparisons with other survival games have been made, with the most common one being the mixture between DayZ and Minecraft. Reviewers praised the game’s concept and gameplay, while also noting the obvious unfinishedness. As of the end of 2015, Rust Video game torrents has sold over 3 million copies.

The object of the game is to survive in a harsh open world, starting with next to nothing and working to rebuild as the player sees fit. Wolves and bears represent a threat to new characters, but the primary danger comes from other players. There is no option to turn off player vs player combat. In order to survive, the player must craft tools, build fortresses, level up and team with other players. Unlike many other sandbox games, Rust only features a multiplayer mode.

Electronic Arts and developer Ghost Games released the 22nd installment in the storied Need for Speed franchise last November. Since that time, the two have been pumping out free content that includes new features like manual transmissions (how was this missing from a racing game?), bigger garages and select customization items.
EA typically drops a new Need for Speed game each year but as we’ve recently learned, that won’t be the case in 2016.
In a blog post published earlier today, it was revealed that the recent SpeedList update would be the last free content update for the current Need for Speed Video game torrents title.
As the team shifts its attention to the next game, they’ll be working with the community to provide multiple opportunities to bring fans into the studio over the coming months to get feedback on where they’re headed with the title. It’s unclear if they mean physically inviting gamers into the studio for a behind-the-scenes look or just sharing images / videos / hosting betas online.
Currently, the team plans to ship the next Need for Speed game sometime in 2017. Ghost Games invited fans to share their thoughts and ideas regarding the new game on Twitter, Facebook or in their new forums. Unfortunately, the post didn’t provide much in the way of details or even a potential name.
This marks just the second time since 2001 that we’ve had a year without a new NFS game. EA also skipped 2014 before releasing NFS: Rivals and the current Need for Speed last year.
