Romantic suspense

Limitless Publishing
A motorcycle crash forces Skyler Smith into Laney Pearson’s hospital, barely clinging to life… As a trauma nurse, Laney works with surgeon Josh Stone to bring Skyler back from the brink of death and toward recovery. But what initially looks like nothing more than a freak accident may turn out to be much more dangerous—and maybe even deadly. In the years they’ve worked together, Laney has never given Josh the time of day… She thinks he’s nothing more than a pompous doctor looking for another notch to add to his belt. But caring for Skyler brings the pair closer, and Laney lets down her guard, allowing them the chance to find happiness together in the midst of so much destruction. But someone doesn’t want them to be happy. Someone wants Laney gone. Threats might derail their love before it really starts… As the couple tries to build their budding relationship, Laney begins to receive menacing messages. And when she and Josh learn that Skyler’s accident is anything but unintentional, they fight to balance finding the would-be killer with keeping keep Laney safe from her stalker. But each wild turn takes them further away from the truth…and each other. Can Laney and Josh discover who is behind the violent acts, or is each guess they make nothing more than a shot in the dark? Some accidents aren’t accidental…
My Review
The book started out full of mystery from the very beginning, with Skyler on his bike and getting hurt. I really liked Skyler and his mom a lot. I really felted bad for all he went through in this book. It held my attention because I wanted to find out if he would survive and if he did would he be his normal health self. I also wanted to know if his accident was really just that or if it wasn't an accident at all. And if someone was trying to kill him then for what reason. Very surprising outcome.
I really loved Laney and Josh a whole lot. Josh did drive me crazy because he wanted to do everything for Laney. Such as ordering her food for example, as well as her drinks, and so much more. Once Laney told him it was driving her nuts, he did try to tone it back.
Laney also has a stalker, that is very crazy that's for sure. The book did end in a cliffhanger, and somethings were tied up but other things might or might not have been tied up.
There is another book coming out very soon, and I really can't wait to find out what's going to happen next. So I will definitely be reading it, that's for sure.

My Review

I thought the book was pretty good for the first one in a series. I really loved the two love interest Markus and Crystal. I love that Markus wants to be a wizard. I feel so bad that Crystal's parents were taken away from her.

The book started out really slow and I really wasn't sure if I was going to like it or even feel like finishing the book. I am glad I didn't give up on the book. I hope the next book which I have and will read later has more action and adventure. This one had some but it was more about setting up the storyline.

My Review

It took me a little while to get into this book but once I did I really got into the book a lot. I liked the character of Gertie but it took me a little while to do so. I thought she did some really stupid things through out the story, without thinking about it first. I know if I found out there were vampires and I was told to stay in after dark than that is what I would do.

I liked the two love interest, their are Jeno who is the vampire and Hector who is a Demigod. Out of the two I want Gertie to get with Hector. I liked him from the beginning. Jeno I liked also but I feel like his just the hurtle that Gertie and Hector has to get over first. I see a lot more chemistry between those two.

The ending is a cliffhanger so beware of that, and its a big cliffhanger. While I only gave the book 3 1/2 stars I did go ahead and brought the final two books. Because I have to find out what happens next and find out if I am right about who Gertie gets with in the end.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review on the book and my opinions are my own.

Read an excerpt:

He brought the photo closer so he could stare at the woman. She appeared to be in her mid-forties, a brunette with hazel eyes that looked amusingly at the photographer. She came up to her husband’s chin. The husband was a graying brunet and while her son had inherited her eye color, he was blond. McLaren had no time to comment on this.

Linnet said, “The others…” She leaned forward, her left arm bent and supporting her, and tapped each photo as she mentioned their names. “The group shot is Marta, her boss, and the vet for the shelter. This…” She skipped over the others in the photograph and pointed to the woman to the extreme left. “That’s Verity Dwyer.”

“The wrongly suspected coworker.” The woman in the photo had auburn hair that shone in the sunlight; her blue eyes smiled at him. Linnet nodded. “Yes. Suspected of killing Marta, though that wasn’t proved. But she was convicted of stealing money from the shelter. She’s three months into her sentence. She was… Oh, it’s extremely involved.”

“I’ve got more time than money. Tell me.”
