Wallbanger
Wallbanger - Alice Clayton Okay, this is definitely not the kind of book you want to read at work during downtime (or anytime in public, let's face it). It's absolutely silly, over-the-top, improbable, full of bon-mot and totally hilarious. I had to resist snaughling (yup, maybe I'm team Giggler here) so hard I got a jaw-ache.

I loved the absurd cat btw. I picked up this book because I wanted a lightweight palate-cleanser (a.k.a. no-brainer chick-lit romance) and it turned out to be really good, even if the second half dragged a little. Who would have thought that baking could be such an exciting activity?

Recommended for a steamy, ridiculous and fun read.

Johanna's Review of Wallbanger
Wallbanger - Alice Clayton

Originally appeared here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1503539444

The dialogues between Caroline and Simon don't seem believable. It seems to be rants between 10-12 year olds on the internet rather than exchanges between learned adults.
Abigail Barnette's "Bad Boy Good Man" is a preferable read. It has the same concept, yet the speaker actually sounds like an adult rather than an emotional preteen.

Wallbanger Review
Wallbanger - Alice Clayton

This book was superb! Sexy, hilarious, and genuinely sweet, Wallbanger is a romance I will likely read again and again. I TOTALLY JUDGED IT AT FIRST. I won't lie about it, people. The title had me thinking "Really? I mean-really?" But Simon so is a wallbanger. He will have you swooning and laughing and sweating. Sometimes at once. Caroline is smart, delightful, humorous, and fresh. I LOVED HER. I just loved this book in general. I seriously could not put it down. If you enjoy romance and you love to laugh, I highly recommend this. Also, if you love cute cats with attitude and food I would double recommend.

Wallbanger (Cocktail #1) by Alice Clayton Review
Wallbanger - Alice Clayton

Review

There is a lot to like about this romance. I like how the hero and the heroine had to get over thier assummptions about each other. I had to evovle through my manwhore judgements with the heroine. I love the secondary romances. The banter is a ton of fun. The love story had a great friends to lovers aspects. The losing the O problem is well done. The cat. Oh, I love him.

What made it not so great for me is that while the hero is actually super sweet and complext the heroine really just does things and says things rather that feels real to me. hey are young and lucky with resources and this isn't as appealing to me because it isn't really dealt with as richly as it could be.

I enjoyed it but can't imagine 3 more books with this same couple.

Wish the next book was focused on the other couples.
