ARC Review: Exposure by Aly Hayden
Exposure (Drawn Together Book 1) - Aly Hayden

I'm super late with this review - my apologies to the author.

This book uses the fake-boyfriend trope, in which the fake boyfriend eventually turns into a real boyfriend.

Sam has been lying to his parents about having a boyfriend - and it's even worse, because the man Sam pretends to be his actually exists, even though Sam has created a whole persona that is based on lies. And now Sam's parents insist that Sam bring his boyfriend to the annual Labor Day family reunion.

Ben is a struggling photographer and the man featuring prominently in Sam's desires. And Sam's lies. He reluctantly agrees to accompany Sam to the family reunion after being bribed into it. I say reluctantly because even though Ben is half in love with Sam too, he always thought him way out of his league.

Because Sam has money and Ben does not.

Sam works because he wants to. Ben works because he needs to.

Ben is a bit wary at first, especially since there's someone in his past who hurt him badly, by making him feel that he wasn't good enough.

I liked Ben, and I liked most of Sam's family (his grandma especially), but I didn't really like Sam all that much. He comes across as a spoiled brat on occasion, and he sounded younger than his actual years a few times.

Of course, as expected, Sam's lies begin to unravel over their weekend in the Hamptons, and he hurts Ben badly when the truth comes out. Inevitably, they make up and get their happy ending, because, after all, this is a romance novel.

It's a sweet story, with a well-used trope, and while it ends on a good note, I had reservations about Sam's maturity level and his reasons for lying - he made out his family to be so much worse than they actually were.

This is the kind of story that you read when you need something fluffy with little angst.

Great romance collection
Drawn to Him: A Romance Collection - Willow Winters,M. Never,L.J. Shen,K. Webster,Jade West,Isabella Starling,A. Zavarelli,K.L. Kreig

The beauty of a collection of novellas is that you can read them all, one after another, or you can pick one and enjoy a quick read, getting to them all over time. My favorite thing is discovering new to me authors. Drawn to Him has a great mix of eight authors, some I've read and some I'll be reading again. There's a little something for everyone who enjoys the romance genre. We get mystery, suspense, Alpha males, angst, and even a bit of the taboo. The stories are well-written and engaging, and while I liked some of the tales and characters more than others, I can honestly say that I enjoyed them all.

Great Story
Drawn to the Wolves - Shari Mikels

Kate was trying to find her best friend Cindy who was at Brighton Hotel in Whiskey Grove. Tenn It was a small town and Kate made it there but was having problems finding the hotel. Mrs. Brighton greeted Kate after she got to the hotel. For ten years Kate had sketch artist for the Atlanta P D.  Ten stressful years of feeling perceiving every victims emotions and some criminals inherit evil and Kate knew she was a little unusual but she just called it advanced sixth sense. But it wore on her and she needed out. The one part of the gift Kate truly enjoyed was experiencing the positive emotions of others. Kate wasn’t sure how long she’d be able to stay but this was a good first step in the right direction, one where she could draw for enjoyment not because it was desperately needed by so many people for so many reason’s Ten Kate asked about walking behind the hotel and paths and decided after being in the car so long after she was more or less settled to go for a walk. Callan was alpha to a wolf pack and sensed someone was in trouble. Then Callan knew it was a woman and and his mate and he had to go to her and protect her. Then the fear he senses turned into terror. He had to protect his mate before it was too late. A bond had already developed between Kate and Callan. Mrs Brighton had called about her missing guest. Callan already knew Kate was his mate. But than Callan found out Kate was terrified of wolves and then his cousin hadn’t helped.  But he could communicate because of their bond. Callan protected Kate and got her back to the hotel and he stayed with her as Kate didn’t want to be alone. But they slept in separate beds then he told her about his sister pictures on the walls of the cabins they were going to start renting out and Kate wanted to see the cabins the next day. Kate felt the bond and a deep attraction for Callan.

I loved this story and it was great. Kate had to and did overcome her fear. I definitely loved the romance between Callan and Kate. even if she broke their hearts. I loved how Callan and his pack were with each other. I loved the plot of this story. It was a short story but didn’t lack anything. I felt bad for the reason Kate was terrified of wolves and then to fall in love with one. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Mated: Saving His Wolf - Wolf Summer - Drawn to the Wolves by @kerryadrienne, @sionnafox & @sharimikels
Mated: Saving His Wolf - Wolf Summer - Drawn to the Wolves - Kerry Adrienne,Shari Mikels,Sionna Fox
Mated is a collection of three different shifter stories by three authors. The stories have nothing in common with each other apart from the shifters, so you don't have to have read any previous work to gain the full enjoyment out of these novellas. They are all good lengths, and give you plenty of details not only about the main characters, but also about Pack history, situations etc.

They are all brilliantly written, drawing you into each story quickly, making you want the characters to gain their HEAs. There were no editing or grammatical errors in any of the stories that disrupted my reading flow. Although I have read some of Kerry Adrienne's work prior to this, I now have two further authors to look out. This collection was thoroughly enjoyable, and I definitely recommend it.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *
