List: "Old(er) Women in SF/F"

A nice long list of SF/F books and stories with old(er) women protagonists (or, in a few cases, prominent characters?).

29 Speculative Fiction (Sci-fi/Fantasy/Dystopian) Books Written by Women of Color

Some recent activity on my "Sci-Fi/Fantasy Written by Women" reading list has reminded me that I've been neglecting it. This list of 29 books has a few authors I'm pretty sure I haven't included, and the weekend will give me all kinds of time to add them.

By the way, it still bugs me that I can't automatically sort my list by author. I'd love to have it in author name order, but I'm not going to manually alphabetize almost 300 books.

Reading List: Sci-Fi/Fantasy Written by Women

I've started this list at Jessica's suggestion. If I've missed an author, let me know - and if you could suggest a particular book, that would be even better, because picking specific books is turning out to be the hardest part of making the list.

I'm trying to stick to one book per author, but that's been difficult in a few cases. So many of these women write/wrote multiple unrelated series, and it's not always easy for me to tell what their most popular book/series is. So far, I have more than one book listed for Tanith Lee and C.J. Cherryh and may go back and list additional books for some of the others.

On a related note, did you know that LibraryThing has a "Rating Statistics" feature on its author pages? It's been coming in very handy.

Genrify: Urban Fantasy vs. Paranormal Romance

Ooh nice, an infographic that shows where various series (and a few one-shots) fall on the romance-to-fantasy scale.

I printed it out for myself so that I could use it as a sort of reading list. I'm not going to force myself to read every book in every series. For one thing, it would take me ages, and for another, it would mean getting caught up on LKH's books, and I just can't bring myself to do that. However, I did go through and mark down which ones I've at least tried. So far, I've read all or a portion of 21 of the works/series on the chart.

So, what about the rest of you paranormal romance/urban fantasy readers? How many of these have you read?

Booker Longlist

Just bookmarking for myself. I don't think I'll read all of them, most probably I'll just wait for the shorlist and read those before the announcement.
