Another cracking yarn about Captain Matthew Reddy and his crew and compatriots. There are moments when things go slowly but they are few and far between. Anderson gets kudos for using a Natural disaster to tie up multiple threads of Plot. A fun well executed pleasure.

Taylor Anderson really comes into his own with this fourth volume the first in a new Destroyermen "trilogy". Gone are the problems I had with earlier books with interior monologues rambling too far and slowing the plot. Instead the monologues drive the plot and show the creativity of the Destroyerme...

Tremendous finish but took way too long to get there. Throughout the last maybe 50 pages the author had a knack for using the word 'terrible' on nearly every page. Got to the point where I was grinding my teeth at every occurrence.

Great book, will start the next in the series shortly. I highly recommend if alternate history with a twist is your thing.

I listened to the audio version of this book, and at first it seemed like it was going be a World War II novel. Not knowing what the novel was about, it took me by surprise when it turned out to be an alternative history novel as a US destroyer under heavy attack by the Japanese navy got sucked int...
