I like this book better on second reading. Poppy is a bit different for a heroine, but it's really Harry Rutledge who carries the book. Having been abandoned by his mother and raised by his uncaring father, he's a difficult, selfish man. Ultimately, though, the Hathaways prevail, as they always do.
