Looking over the reviews of this book I noticed that they swing from being 'a classic account of boys on the loose in frontier America' to 'I want to punch Tom Sawyer in the face.' One reviewer has commented on how is mum owned a dog-eared copy of this book from before he was born to after he left h...

The story was cute, but man that kid needed some discipline! It's hard to believe how wild children used to be. But it did make for an entertaining and amusing story.

I read this in its entirety only recently, and longed to have read the whole book back when I was of a similar age to Tom and his comrades. A brilliant, warm, witty and finely-written adventure which brought a smile to my lips. It gave me a thrilling renewal of my recollections of high-spirited time...

My first tryst with Mark Twain and am certain that it wouldn't be the last. The story was nostalgic. Tom had rich experiences and it was fun to read and enjoy them.

I loved this book ! It was really good and motivated me to read classics! I like this book more than Huck Finn Tom is a lovable scoundrel who is not trying to hurt anyone.. He is trying to have a good time while scaring his aunt Polly out of her wits..
