This story sucked me and and failed to let me go easily. I really want to read the next instalment. The twins, Sophie and Josh Newman are the only characters who aren't historical or mythological. Josh works for Nick Flamel in his bookshop and his twin works in the coffee shop opposite. They're ...

Okay just the title of this book hooked me, I was determined to read this series, so even though I had tons of books to read, I bought it. So glad I did. I loved this book from first chapter to the end. Such an array of characters, bringing in, Flamel and Perry, plus The Morrigan, Hekate, Bastet, ne...

Very light, juvenile read. I enjoyed the simplicity of it. It was a nice change from some if the heavier, more technical books I've been reading.

This was a fun story! I'll withhold final judgment until I've finished the series. But for now I'll say that I'm plesently surprised and happy to have found The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel!******All done! Here's the series review:http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/434781684

I might have liked this more if about halfway through the book the author didn't foreshadow so strongly it felt like I was being beaten with it.

The Alchemyst is a fantasy story written by Michael Scott - an Irish author, not the guy from The Office. The book follows the adventures of the twins, Sophie and Josh, as they find out that magic, myths and legends are all very real things. They team up with Nicholas Flamel and Scathach (horribly ni...

This book left me with mixed feelings. I love the interspersion of mythology, but I don't like how simple the writing is. Most of the time, I grimaced because the author kept telling me what the characters thought instead of showing me what happened. On the other hand, The author wrote the story for...
