Zafon's earlier book, The Shadow of the Wind, is one of my favorite books. I love how it was written and the mesmerizing hold it had on me. Because of this, I looked forward with great pleasure to reading this book. While the writing is still excellent (for the most part), the story is so grim and u...
Angel's Game is a watered-down version of the magic that Zafon gave us in Shadow of the Wind. There are more witty lines, more character analyses, and though these are a welcome change or addition, somehow the magic is a bit lost. The ending made me feel a bit shortchanged. It might be unfair to com...
This book is beautifully written, and I really loved the thought of a cemetery for forgotten books. Zafon is a great author with words, the problem is that the context does not manage to pick my ineterst.the problem with his book is that the pace is slow while so much is happenning and everything is...
“The Shadow of The Wind” is one of my favorite books, so I was excited to read this one. Carlos Ruiz Zafon’s lyrical writing and beautiful descriptions are equally captivating in “The Angel’s Game” and I happily immersed myself in the story. Once again, Carlos Ruiz Zafon created a series of intrigui...
I just absolutely love Zafon's style of writing and he really knows how to tell a great story. Unfortunately I didn't quite like The Angel's Game as well as I enjoyed The Shadow of the Wind. There was some strange elements added to the plot that were never fully explained and didn't seem to go any w...
Carlos Ruiz Zafon writes in such a rich, expressive, colorful way that I doubt it is possible for him to create a book I wouldn't love! The Angel's Game is no exception!Zafon once again takes readers into historical Barcelona only this time it is junior writer David Martin they'll get to know. Marti...
4.5Didn't like it as much as The Shadow of the Wind. Plus, I almost gave up close to the end, because I was starting to get frustrated with the whole damn story. But after pushing through, I was content with the ending. Content is about as high as I'll go with that :p
Hmmm, interesting book. I'm not sure if I liked some of the elements of the story, mostly mental health related. Over all though, and without giving anything away, the book definitely kept me engaged. I defintely liked this one better than Shadow of the Wind as well.
