Near perfect book. Two thumbs up. Love Alec, love Dylan even more. Love that Dylan just is what he is, and accepts it so easily despite it being a big change in his life. Lovable side characters, even the ex-boyfriend... I hope we'll get some clarity to why things played out as they did in the n...
Wow. I really enjoyed reading this book. Both the MC characters are likeable and well portrayed. The usual misunderstanding and miscommunication are well handled. And the sex .. hot (well, kind of easy when you're dealing with a biker covered in grease). The only flaw was Noah: annoying and nosey.

Rating: 3.25?Maybe my hormones are off today. The gay-for-you trope is my absolute favorite and the blurb sounded so promising. I was expecting the equivalent to a hot shower after a long, cold day, but ended up getting lukewarm water instead. My biggest issue with The Backup Boyfriend was my inabili...
I really enjoyed this. Even when Dylan and Alec were going through difficult times is still never felt too angsty, they weren't being drama queens of having any major idiotic miscommunications. Their interactions and banter were fun. Their sexin was steamy and versatile. All around, a good read.I wi...
The Backup Boyfriend (The Boyfriend Chronicles) - River Jaymes Dear guys you do not make a shred of sense. No, wait, in second grade ... perhaps. A special mention goes to Noah that is pleasant as a cat attached to the MCs' testicles. ETA The book starts off great, but then, throughout it, I ha...
3.5 starsAfter reading so many MM contemporary romance, finding something refreshing can be difficult. So I must give thumbs up for a different take on 'gay-for-you' (sort of), labels, and relationship in this story. Before that, let's get out the things that not working so great for me first, shall...
4.5 starsThis is a sweet and sometimes heartbreaking story. I enjoyed the author's writing style and straightforward character development. Dylan opens up along the way, and each new revelation made me hurt for him. This is a man who has experienced pain and loss and knows that people will do anythi...
Loved this book. The pacing was perfect with just the right amount of angst to hit all the right spots. Loved the characters and the author totally sucked me into her world. I think what got me most was the realness of how the beginning of a relationship was shown. The emotions of the characters wer...
