I hear a lot about how this book is sooooo depressing, but I just didn't get that vibe. I mean yes it pretty depressing in that she wants to commit suicide but I guess I was just too interested in the character and enjoyed the writing too much to be depressed by the this book.

It took me so long to actually get around to reading The Bell Jar, and I am disappointed in myself for not reading it years ago. I don't think that I have the mental capability to even begin to explain how powerful this book is.

Review might go up on my blog later, but right now I'm not going to write too much about it. I found it a perfectly likeable novel, but I think I would've enjoyed Plath's poetry more.
