One of the things I hate about popular YA books lately is how very little the authors understand teenagers. They seem to get the angst, and stop there. Re-read.I adored this book. I really enjoy Lockhart's breezy writing style, and I completely identified with Ruby, the protagonist. The characters are believable, the plotting leisurely but engrossing, and the writing matches Ruby's style exactly.
I can't seem to get through this. Maybe it's because I read the book that comes after this already, so I know what's going to happen? I don't know. I'm just not feeling it, sorry everyone.
