I'm tempted to attribute the dumbed down world building, logic flaws, and flat characters to the fact that this is written as children's literature, but I've read far too many excellent stories in that category to accept that children don't need or deserve better. Much of the ignorance of the people...

This is a pretty decent post-apocalyptic book for young adults. I wish I had books like this at my disposal as a kid.

Interesting story on this one. (Remarkably, the movie was very close, though it did change bits)A bit 'steampunky', modern, yet fantasy type setting as well. Interesting mix. Simply written, definitely for young people, but still an intriguing story. Unfortunately, the end just leaves you with more ...

A very interesting book. I enjoyed it and it was a good read from someone who doesn't necessarily read science fiction.

Curious, carefree and artistic Lina Mayfleet. Athletic. Full of energy and dreams. Moody, passionate Doon Harrow. Curious and intelligent. Tempermental, but good-hearted. Has an interest in insects and machinery. Both are twelve years old and stuck in an underground metropolis that has long forgotte...

Fun YA story about two kids growing up in a city that lives in total darkness. This was very entertaining for a couple of hours - the characters are well developed, it is well paced, and very well written for a YA novel. I'm going to get the rest of the tetralogy immediately.

I enjoyed the pace of this book. It was a quick and easy read, yet it still drew me in and when I was finished I wanted to read more. Definitely for a younger crowd, the language was easy. But still a great little story. I look forward to seeing the movie.
