Welcome to the first installment of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. It may cause fits of head scratching, general feelings of unease, confusion or make you stare blankly into space. One dose may also cause a rather frustratingly urgent need to read more. Best taken in pairs, as it will leave you...

This sort of reminded me of all those cult classics which I just couldn't get in to. Maybe it's the British humor thing, I just don't find it funny. Abandoned after part 1. Loved it back in 1988, but was not enjoying it again this time round. Maybe I should dive into the series at a later stage.

1st in a long series. It's like a cross between sci-fi and fantasy. Many difficult to pronounce words, but otherwise it was an interesting read. I'm not going to rush to the rest of the series, but I'll probably get to them some day.

The first book in the series, and a really good start for it. Introduces the insanity that is Discworld neatly and bizzarely. It's quite a shame how some of the brilliant ideas got lost along the way... Oh! and it ends with a real cliff-hanger ;)

The problem with comedy is that when you are told the jokes they cease to be funny, and this makes reading such books twice difficult at best (though I have since discovered that by returning to them after, say, twenty years, the comedy can return to its original form - and some books, well, they ar...

I first discovered Terry Pratchett's Discworld series when I was in my teens and I have been a massive fan of his work ever since, over the years I've read most of the series but I thought it was about time I started a re-read. Although you don't have to read the series in order I have a bit of a t...
