This paper, written by Lemmon, explains and addresses various sociological viewpoints and how they have evolved over hundreds of years of review. Theorists today repeatedly reference ideas from thinkers of previous generations, in an attempt to bring them to light in a new way. The hope is that these ideas could once again be relevant and help to develop and further the social sciences that so many are dedicated to. Famous sociological theorists such as Karl Marx and Max Weber are regularly reviewed throughout the following pages, on varying topics from across the sociological spectrum. One particular sociologist Alan Scott, thoroughly criticizes the direct use of sociological theories in political parties’ organization tactics, democracy in particular (2011, p. 156). The point of criticisms like Scott’s is to further develop these classical sociological ideas to show how they are being used even today to run our great country. Other journal articles discussed are written by modern day theorists in the field provide. These social theorists instill us with their valuable knowledge and viewpoints so that we may continue the study of the most famous social theories ever produced.
