OMG!! Despite the fact that Peter & I have been discussing what book to read next for about a week and we did a chapter countdown, I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that it's over. :'(There was ONE chapter in this book that I did not like. And the rest I adored. This book captivated both...

I love this story although this is probably one of the longest books I've ever read (or so it seemed at the time). I have to admit on this one I like the movie and its deviation from the original story better :) It's a great classic and I think everyone should read it once! Maybe in installments ;-)

There’s so much to love and still so much to hate about this book. It’s one of my favorite classics. Always go for the unabridged version.

The first third of this book is a thriller, the second third a soap opera, and the final third is a murder mystery, and the whole thing is a behemoth. There's also a touch of romance near the end. The principle message through almost all of its 1200 pages (1400 in some editions) is that "revenge is...

Picture this: you are nineteen years old with your whole life ahead of you, you've just been offered the job of your dreams, and you're about to marry the person you've loved since childhood... when suddenly a couple of jealous men decide to frame you as a Bonapartist (a crime which was punished by ...

Edmond Dantès, better known as caped crusading The Count of Monte Cristo or to his friends. A record bre...

I really liked this book.First the bad: Too much. Too many characters, too many pages, too many emotions, too many plot twists. But that's why I liked it. It's a serial and should be understood as such. Are there pacing issues? Yes. Continuity problems? I've only read it once, but surely there are. D...
