A great book. A bit strange to read, knowing the outcome, while Anne doesn't. At times, the book reads like a fictional diary where the author knows where she's going with the story, knows the ending, and is putting in poignant little moments or comments to pull at the reader's heart strings, but of...

It has been a very long time since I've read this book, but it left an indelible impression on me. Six million Jews dead because of Nazi genocide? A statistic. A story like Anne Frank's Diary? A tragedy truly felt. And not from horrific details, not from learning about the Holocaust itself, but simp...

I recently bought this at one of the Salvation Army's shops here in Norway, and I knew that I had no longer an excuse not to read this book. I've been postponing it for very long, and I don't even know why.Anne Frank was a very reflected young girl. I was nowhere near that reflected when I was thirt...

How do you review a book that was not meant to be a book? The only thing that comes to my mind for this book is..interesting. I'm sure there are better books about Jewish accounts of hiding and their perception of the war and better books of reading a teenager's inner self, contradictions and no-one-...

3.5 starsFirst off I should note that I do feel slightly guilty only giving this book 3.5 stars, but I rate largely upon enjoyment not historical importance.I absolutely believe everyone should read Anne Frank's diary and I really question why I was never told to do so in school. While reading it it...

This book is, quite literally, the most life changing thing a human being could possibly read.

How do you rate a book like this? I kept hovering over the stars trying to decide, but this just isn't a book you "rate". I didn't read this for recreational purposes...I read it for information, insight, curiosity. I didn't love it or hate it. I wasn't appalled by the writings of a 14 year old girl...

I feel absolutely horrendous even rating this. The three-star rating is only based on what it made me feel. Because (quite obviously) I knew the outcome before the beginning, I read the whole thing with this horrible sense of dread in my stomach. To be honest, I think I just was too young to be ca...
