All the awards to Libba Bray for this mighty novel. It's a long one! I listened to it, all fifteen disks but definitely worth the length and not boring for a moment. This will be the second series of Mrs. Bray's that I've read. I did read The Great and Terrible Beauty Series in high school, barely r...

My first ever DNF.I tried and got as far as page 21, and that was enough for me.This book is massive and I don't think I can take 500 pages of those lengthy, confusing descriptions of this era.Evie was not my favorite and I couldn't get past her ignorance.

Do you believe there are ghosts and demons and Diviners among us?I knew, from the minute I read the description, that this book was the one for me: flappers, diviners, ghosts, speakeasies, pickpockets, Broadway plays, jazz and gin...magic. Everything about The Diviners screams 'Perfection!': from th...

Why did I take so long to read this? Oh, Vanessa, you foolish girl. I remember reading this book on and off on my commute to university, and then for whatever reason, putting it down and picking it back up again at odd intervals. It’s not that it wasn’t holding my interest – simply put it down to ...
