When 16 year-old Cassandra McKellen brings a special keepsake home from the Renaissance Festival, she has no idea how special it is indeed. Awakened in the middle of the night by scratching sounds and eerie flickers of light, Cassandra realizes something fantastic is alive and living in her closet.She tries to feed the creature: cat food, lunch meat, and even steak, but discovers that this beast requires a diet of a very different kind. As the creature begins to grow, so does its attitude. Will Cassandra lose control of the creature and herself in the process?
