I can't decide whether I really loathed this: the pretentious, intuitive, emotionally in-touch detective who also happens to be in the middle of a nervous breakdown; the over-use of adjectives and metaphors; the ludicrous plot line (why didn't they go to the police); the fact I worked out very quick...
