A compilation of Brothers Grimm fairy tales complete with vintage illustrations This book brings together approximately two dozen of the most beloved of the classic Grimm fairy tales, including all the classics, such as Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Hansel and Gretel in an all-new translation specially commissioned for this publication. Containing a painstakingly-researched selection of artwork by some of the most famous illustrators from the 1850s to the 1950s—including Golden Age legend Kay Nielsen, beloved bestselling author Wanda Gág (of "Millions of Cats," 1928), British darlings Walter Crane and Arthur Rackham, and giants of nineteenth century German illustration Hermann Vogel, Otto Speckter, and Viktor Paul Mohn—this compilation also includes beautiful silhouettes culled from original publications from the 1920s that run throughout the entire layout. For adults and children alike, this collection brings to life the magic of fairy tales and their illustrations. About the Brothers Grimm: Brothers Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859) were German academics and linguists who spent years collecting popular fairy tales and folk tales such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel. Their resulting compilation of over 200 stories Kinder- und Hausmärchen (Children's and Household Tales) is one of the most famous collections of tales in the world, influencing generations of writers, composers, artists, academics, and filmmakers.

5.0 Grimm's Fairy Tales
This is a book filled with many different stories by The Grimm Brothers. This would be an excellent book for older students who are looking at myths, folktales, and short stories.

4.0 The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales (Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library)
This collection is a load of interesting little stories. These originals are way more twisted than fairytales of my childhood. In these versions, the repercussions are more bloody and less forgiving.

4.0 The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales (Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library)
I have to admit that this is my second time reading through this. Each different editions. There is nothing like a classic, and the way each story seems like it's being told by the fireside is a wonderful read. Though there are some stories that end up very violently, and left up to the parent if it...

5.0 Grimm's Fairy Tales
I adore fairy tales. Have I said that before? Because I really do. And it's especially interesting seeing the same basic fairy tales retold by the different classics. For instance, both Perrault and the brothers Grimm included Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Sleeping Beauty, among others, an...
