A compilation of Brothers Grimm fairy tales complete with vintage illustrations This book brings together approximately two dozen of the most beloved of the classic Grimm fairy tales, including all the classics, such as Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Hansel and Gretel in an all-new translation specially commissioned for this publication. Containing a painstakingly-researched selection of artwork by some of the most famous illustrators from the 1850s to the 1950s—including Golden Age legend Kay Nielsen, beloved bestselling author Wanda Gág (of "Millions of Cats," 1928), British darlings Walter Crane and Arthur Rackham, and giants of nineteenth century German illustration Hermann Vogel, Otto Speckter, and Viktor Paul Mohn—this compilation also includes beautiful silhouettes culled from original publications from the 1920s that run throughout the entire layout. For adults and children alike, this collection brings to life the magic of fairy tales and their illustrations. About the Brothers Grimm: Brothers Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859) were German academics and linguists who spent years collecting popular fairy tales and folk tales such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel. Their resulting compilation of over 200 stories Kinder- und Hausmärchen (Children's and Household Tales) is one of the most famous collections of tales in the world, influencing generations of writers, composers, artists, academics, and filmmakers.

I think, if I had tried to read this book all at once, I probably would have given up on it. As it is, I’m not sure finishing it is the wisest thi...

5.0 Grimm's Fairy Tales
This is a book filled with many different stories by The Grimm Brothers. This would be an excellent book for older students who are looking at myths, folktales, and short stories.

4.5 Grimm Brother's Fairytales
I absolutely love the Grimm fairytales. I think that you could do a lot with this in the 5th-6th grade. Like comparing the Grimm fairytales to other versions of the stories.

3.0 The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm
I’m not sure what I expected when I began this translation of the original compilation of folk tales. I guess I anticipated some surprises, stories which I had never heard before. And there were a few of those, but mostly what surprised me was how many of these tales were familiar to me! Virtuall...

4.0 The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales (Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library)
This collection is a load of interesting little stories. These originals are way more twisted than fairytales of my childhood. In these versions, the repercussions are more bloody and less forgiving.
