Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea cycle has become one of the best-loved fantasies of our time.  The windswept world of Earthsea is one of the greatest creations in all fantasy literature, frequently compared with J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth or C.S. Lewis' Narnia.  The magnificent saga begins with A Wizard Of Earthsea,  continues in The Tombs Of Atuan and The Farthest Shore, and concludes with Tehanu --each book a treasure of wisdom, wonder, and literary wizardry.  The magic had gone out of the world.  All over Earthsea the mages had forgotten their spells, the springs of wizardry were running dry.  Ged, Dragonlord and Archmage, set out with Arren, a highborn young prince, to seek the source of the darkness.  This is the tale of their harrowing journey beyond the shores of death to heal a wounded land.

3.0 The Farthest Shore
I was in a very distractable state of mind when I read this so I don't think I got the whole effect. But I did enjoy it. A true bromance, but not with bros. And, you know, saving the world and serious stuff.

4.5 Review: The Farthest Shore (Earthsea Cycle Book 3 of 6ish)
On average, I would say I enjoyed this book about as much as I had enjoyed the previous two books, but maybe less in some ways, and more in other ways.In the very beginning of book one, we were told Ged would eventually be an Archmage. At the beginning of this book, we find that this has come to pa...

3.5 Mniej magii w magii
Moja najmniej ulubiona część cyklu. Może dlatego się na niej zatrzymałam i nigdy nie dotarłam do "Tehanu", za które będę się powoli zabierać. "Najdalszemu brzegowi" brakuje mądrości "Czarnoksiężnika z Archipelagu" i rozmachu "Grobowców Atuanu". Brakuje mu - nomen omen - magii. W "Czarnoksiężniku"...
