I've finally finished. While it's taken me a while to get through this book, I have enjoyed it. It was great to see a slower pace at times. The glimpse into life at Fraser's Ridge was interesting and showed how hard life could be then. Especially when you have travelled back from the 20th century. T...

For this and other reviews please visit Zemfirka Blogs...Mild spoilers aheadIt seems it’s been forever and yet, here I am, having finished another of the Outlander novels. **audiobook**A lot of randomness happens in this book but the connections being made are finally answering questions for me. I can't read this series fast enough. I'm completely intrigued by Claire, Jamie and their family.

Parts of this one were really slow, but some parts were so fast if you blink you'd miss them! Reading one of these books is always an adventure and this one is no exception, but the slow parts were really slow.

I would have enjoyed more action because I felt as though this book was just a preparation for the next one. Still one of my favorite series!

I feel a little bit bad for Jamie, that he has to raise this militia to support the governor and therefore the King, when we all know that history shows what happens to English rule in America. And then OMG what happened to Roger. I was holding my...

1st read: June 2011Current read: Feb 2012So much happens in this book! I still feel for poor Roger... his life has been torn apart since almost the day he "arrived" in 1769. And certainly since he set foot in North Carolina! I don't quite know why Roger has to endure so much. My thoughts turn again ...

3.5 starsThe book starts where the last book ends. Jamie, Claire, Brianna, Roger and Jemmy are living in America and its few years before The American Revolutionary War. There is already unrest seen by people called the Regulators which leads to fighting, and Fraser’s are caught up in it. While I li...
