Shelving this as dnf at p225 of 310. Therefore no rating given. I found Mary to be extremely irritating, and the love foursome unbearable. The most redeeming character was Argos.
There's more to life than reading, but it's a good place to start
Never, and I will repeat NEVER read this book while you are working nightshift and you're alone and it's pretty dark and you can hear the wind and snow whipping against the patio doors ... NEVER !!! Just don't do it to yourselves !!! In my opinion (bearing in mind I'm a bit of a wimp ...) this boo...

This book starts out somewhat normal, as far as dystopians go. We have an isolated village, fenced off from the rest of the world. The rest of the world is full of shambling undead or, as the book likes to refer to them, the Unconsecrated. Okay, cool. Not too bad. It only gets worse from here. M...

I loved the story but really, really didn't like the protagonist. I wanted to slap her a few times, honestly.

I really didn't like how this book went. I hadn't read any zombie books before this one, but I have read a lot of Dystopia novels and this one was everything I dislike in one. It was promising at the start but it soon turned bland despite the action. I found this world building shaky and confusing. ...

Read-a-long with Jess and Khanh!LOL, well, it was anyway. ;)There was a lot that was beautiful about The Forest of Hands and Teeth. The narration, for one, had a subtle and simple way of being poetic and pragmatic at the same time. There was a lot of beauty in the narrator's (Mary) thoughts. I of...

Mannnnn... I don't know. I just don't know. Though I did kind of enjoy the book... I hated Mary. Hate, hate, HATED her. What's so great about Mary? Why do these brothers (whom we BARELY know, even by the end of the novel) trip over themselves to win her heart? We don't know enough about her, or anyb...

DNF, but let me explain. My top 3 thoughts from not finishing this book:1. How many freaking times does one have to read "Unconsecrated"? Can we not just start calling them U's or Unconsies after awhile? Incredibly annoying to read... OR JUST CALL 'EM WHAT THEY ARE, ZOMBIES!2. I never read Twilight, ...

Overall: I really liked this book. It was a very unique and cool take on the whole idea of a zombie type apocalypse. It was very detailed and the plot was constantly changing, but in a good way. This book constantly had my nerves on edge. To be honest, I read until 2 A.M. this morning to finish it. ...
