English Review: After I was extremely thrilled by Armstrong’s ‚Dark Powers‘ series, I absolutely also wanted to try her new YA series and I must say that also here again she could completely persuade me.Not only Armstrong‘s writing style is again great and fluently to read, but also the characters w...

This review was first posted on Music, Books and TeaI read the first book in Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers series last year, and fell in love with her writing style, so when I saw this sitting at my library, I couldn't resist not checking it out. This was a great read, an a very promising start ...

originally posted: http://newborrowedused.blogspot.com/2012/04/book-review-gathering.htmlMy Thoughts: I'm very mixed on this one, felt like a roller coaster. I liked the beginning. The book jumps right into the action. There's a death, an almost death, everything seemed to be going in the right dire...

Kind of disappointing and cookie cut from the same mold of most YA novels. I hope the next one in the series is better cause I don't totally hate Maya. Pretty much what gave this book the second star was her snappy come backs and great lines.

I have a confession to make... here goes. So, anyone who knows me at all on goodreads will know that I have a few friends whose reviews I rely on without question. If they say a book is better than chocolate, orgasms and Melina Marchetta combined, even if I've never heard of it, I will believe them....

As mentioned in a previous review, I am a long-time fan of Kelley Armstrong, pre-YA novel days. And one of the things I feel Mrs. Armstrong does best is shifters. It was wonderful to see her returning to a shifter based character.I think I am also a bit biased because this story takes place in prett...

This was a pretty good read. This series seems to be paced like the Darkest Powers Trilogy, in that the ending of the first book in that the climax isn't BAM! in your face and it's not really a cliffhanger hanger...I don't know how to explain it, but if you've read the Darkest Powers, I think you'll...

Maya is sixteen, adopted, and lives in a little town owned and run by a research corporation. (That’s enough to make you go “hmmm” isn’t it?) Her father is the town’s park warden, and she’s spent her whole life around animals so it’s not much of a surprise when the big cats come hanging around. Then ...

Maya Delaney and her best friend Daniel Bianchi live in a tiny island town outside of Vancouver. It's basically a private town operated by St. Cloud - a drug research company with a facility nearby. It's a relatively quiet town until reporter Mina Lee arrives and winds up dead. Maya, Daniel and R...
