I enjoyed the mystery, but not the romance. I just didn't buy Perry and Nick's "relationship". Nick kept calling Perry "kid" and "junior" and talking about his paternal instincts, it was kind of off putting. Then he kept talking about his Bambi eyes/fawn eyes. Seriously?! I guess I didn't even p...
Blurb: There's a dead body in Perry Foster's bathtub. A dead body in a very ugly sportscoat and matching socks. The dead man is a stranger to Perry, but that's not much of a comfort; how did a strange dead man get in a locked flat at the isolated Alton Estate in the wilds of the "Northeast Kingdom" ...
Another great Josh Lanyon book. I enjoyed the MC's slow building relationship. The killer was not really that unexpected. The murders themselves were interesting. I enjoyed all the running around the characters did, it was better than seeing the two MC's all the time. The ending was such a sweet one...
Wonderful story, especially fell in love with Perry who was so fragile on the outside, but so strong on the inside. Perry falls for ex-marine Nick who doesn't want to get involved with anything or anyone, but come to care deeply about Perry. Great story!
Why do I not read more Josh Lanyon? I've enjoyed every thing I've read from him, I will definitely make it my mission to go read more of his backlist! This is not so much a romance as it is a mystery and it was so much fun to read it and try to determine what was happening at the Alton Estate. It's v...
Another one for the favourites' folder. I simply loved this story. It had all the good things: two very different, but great MCs. A series of interesting and strange side characters. A nice mystery back story. A beautiful falling-in-love-story. Absolutely recommended (especially if you liked the Adr...
“The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks” is my second encounter with Lanyon characters.I liked the atmosphere of this closed door intrigue: an old house in Vermont, an eccentric household, winter and an investigation on the background of unsolved mysteries of the ‘30s. I surrendered without any struggle to Per...
Hmm, I liked this book well enough; it had an adorable couple, some mystery, and it was written by Josh Lanyon. This was one of his earliest works, his first stand-alone I believe, so I guess that's why it didn't measure up to his later novels-Fair Game, Come Unto the Yellow Sand, Dark Horse, Spain ...
I feel like I need to read a Lanyon book every couple of weeks to feed my addiction, so it's a good thing that he's so freaking prolific. Heaven knows what I'll do when I run out. Anyway, this was another satisfying, well-written little mystery/romance with very likable characters.
There are already so many reviews, so I think it's unnecessary to add a long review. It's an amazing book? yeah, it's a Josh Lanyon story... this is equal quality of writing and perfect timing, because yes, it's a mystery, but also a very sweet and unexpected romance.I think that's why I love this s...
