This is a great gothic ghost story, which is suitably atmospheric and creepy, albeit with a slightly disappointing ending.

The story is layered among ghost stories which all seem similar and the ending was disappointing. Would give it 1 1/2 stars, but I liked Harwood's writing and relaxed pace; it's the plot that I didn't enjoy.
A very boring read..It kept my interest enough to have me finish it, but I don't think I have read another book by this author. His writing style is very, very dry.
