Am I the only one who doesn't understand what all the hype was about? Yes, I enjoyed the story but really, was it that special? I think Rosamund Lupton's "Sister" was better and more original but that didn't get all this publicity.

I read this book with my book club. I was intrigued by the promise of unreliable narrators, because they are a weakness of mine. If you don't care for those, or feel cheated or lied to when you read that sort of thing, you'll want to skip this one. I was also interested by people comparing the autho...

I picked this up when I read the comparisons with Gone Girl and all the praising reviews I read over at goodreads. While it was a fast paced, suspense story, I wasn't left feeling that dread, that gutted feeling like I did after my Gone Girl reading. I wouldn't have compared the two myself, if the...

I hated every single character in this book (maybe Cathy could be an exception, But I didn't like her either) and I hated everything they did throughout the book. So why the four stars? This is an amazing story that DreamWoks Pictures acquired the rights to make into a movie. “The Girl on the Tra...

I've been wanting to read Girl on the Train for a while, and I'm glad I finally made time for it. I thought it was well done and kept me engaged the entire time. While none of the characters are particularly likeable, they felt real. There were a few moments where I felt a few of the characters did ...

AudiobookI think my mistake was listening to the book. The narrators did a fantastic job but when it got to the scene where one of the characters is talking to her lover and she says no one leaves her, it wasn't who I thought it was because of the voice. So I figured it out about halfway through. Th...

I've been meaning to read this book for a while. I started to do the Popsugar challenge, and this fit in with the murder mystery novel. The circumstances under which I started reading were a bit funny. I was on a train to London, heading from one Swan hotel to another. I happen to work in a Swan h...
