There are times where I hear someone loving a book so much that I make a mental note to keep my eyes open for it. Well, seeing as how I love books, I love spending my time on YouTube looking up book related videos, where people review books or show book hauls or anything really that has to do with b...

Unable to finish this. Every time I try to pick it up, I tell myself no, because I know it's just gonna put me in yet another reading slump. Way too descriptive for my taste and not enough action. Maybe I'll pick it up again later, but right now this is definitely not the right book for me.

I really liked this book. The writing is amazing! I loved that the narrator addresses the reader quite often. There are a lot rumbling throughout the story, which I had a bit of trouble getting used to. The pacing was a bit slow at the beginning but it worked to introduce all the craziness of Fairly...

Will write a full review later (after christmas work madness is over), but for now I'll just say that this book began a little odd and infuriating and annoying and somewhere, somehow along the way, it became very odd and endearing and quite beautiful. I'm not sure if four stars is the right rating, ...

I wouldn't necessarily class this one as a children's book - it has more in common with books like Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching books; it's *suitable* for children, certainly, but it works perfectly fine for adults too. It took a while to get going for me, and felt derivative rather than homage-...

This one was a long time coming. I often saw this book pop up in my feeds, and everyone seemed very enchanted with the story. I feel a bit torn on my final rating. On one hand, it was a very different and beat-to-its-own-drum type of writing. Taking a chance generally scores well with me. However, ...

This book was incredible, fantastical, and loaded with adventure. This is the kind of book a child would read over and over. I almost felt like I was 10 years old reading it. I am wowed by the incredible imagination of CM Valente. This is the story of September. A young girl who's Father has gone...

The beginning was a bit too twee and whimsical for me, but it ended up being a brilliant fantasy tale. Looking forward to reading more from the author.

I love the concept of this book (not so much the anti-Narnia of Pullman as a 90º twist on it); I love the beautiful writing (with words that “did not pretend to be simple, but put on their full armor and rode out with colors flying.”); I love how well it achieves hiding the story for adults inside t...

A peculiar and whimsical story hiding within the frames of a traditional fairy-tale and an outrageous fantasy universe. It is filled with wonder and magic; witches, purring leopards, purpose-seeking keys, loyal creatures made out of soap and a dragon with literary roots, all soaked in Valente's beau...
