Possibly the most stressful book I've read in a long time. Deep, mysterious, fascinating, but more than anything very stressful. What a way to end my 2011 reading! It seems like everyone in this book is either oppressive or being oppressed. The language is fascinating and very playful, but in some pa...
It is interesting to read another way that twins, or siblings of any kind, hold a connection that cannot be understood by any other. Furthermore, the inability of the book to give a simple explanation of who the God of Small Things was was masterful and brought a sense of 'unreality' to the book.
Gorgeously written, compelling plot, compelling characters, interesting narrative structure. I loved pretty much everything about this book. It is very tragic. I nearly cried at the end and I was certainly disturbed in many places. That's how touching this novel is. So don't read it if you're lookin...

I finished The God of Small Things yesterday, and decided to sleep on it before I tried to write a review, hoping that might make it clear what I wanted to say.And I still don't know. I don't know what I thought about this book. I didn't love it - it's not one I'll rush out and tell all my friends a...
