2.5The concept is really cool and the "shocking" parts would have been shocking if:1. It wasn't so predictable.2. I cared about the characters.3. The book moved faster. No goosebumps, no yelling, no chills.Nada.

I could not think of a better word than electric for this book as it touches you strong and sends jolts of high currents as you keep reading and immersing yourself into the book To take the book at its face value, then it is your typical Stockholm syndrome in play but this is perhaps one of those ...

I did not enjoy this book. Three different perspectives on a kidnapping, and NOTHING happened. Additionally, I could not connect with any of the characters. When I wasn't bored to death, I was angry at messy details and implausible conversations. Ugh. I want these 11 hours back in my life.

This is a decent book for a debut, but don't expect to be gripping the edge of your seat in suspense. There were some comparisons to Gone Girl (is every female suspense novel to be compared to Gone Girl forever??) but the delicious evil and malevolence were absent in this book. I did like how differ...

Based on the description from Goodreads and reviews I had read online, I had high expectations of the book The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. Goodreads provided this description of the book: Born to a prominent Chicago judge and his stifled socialite wife, Mia Dennett moves against the grain as a young...

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! Mia, daughter of a famous judge, got abducted and was held for three months in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. She returns home, but now suffers from -amongst other things- sele...

I received a copy from Harlequin Mira via Netgalley, in return for an honest review. I'd heard good things about this début novel so was looking forward to reading and reviewing it for myself. Sometimes when a book, particularly the author's first, seems to be everywhere, I've been disappointed to...
