The main character doesn't make very good choices, and sometimes I wanted to shake her, but it's a good story overall.
Remember when any story about a woman who had sex with anyone other than her lawfully wedded husband resulted in tragedy for the woman? Suicide was popular. Miller updates the retribution story., and I really like it,perhaps just because it is so familiar.
